My First Day

Feeling: bummed out
Listening to: "Now or Never" by Josh Groban

Alright, first a quick recap of the past week before a recap of all my teachers.

Last Wednesday, I got my hair dyed (yay!) and afterwards bummed around Lake George for a few hours with Katie. We went to the wax museum which was really fun, although I was startled by things like a laser pointer going around in circles. Yeah.

Sunday was the demoliton derby which was a blast as usual. There's something very satisfying about junk cars smashing each other to scrap metal while a crowd cheers its approval.

On Monday, I babysat for my neighbor's kids, who were really cute and pretty easy to take care of. After I was done there, I went to Crossgates with Katie because she had expressed an interest in doing some shopping. I actually found some nice stuff, so I'm glad we got the chance to go.

Alright, now for the good part. The breakdown of my teachers.

Health- She was nice enough, and seemed like a fair grader, so I think health with her will go by pretty quickly. She wasn't boring or overly-enthused, so I have a feeling we're going to get along just fine.

Gym (Coletta) - If I have to have a guy's coach, I'm glad I got this one. He's the nice, young one who made sure I actually got to touch the frisbee during ultimate frisbee last year. I'm also relatively satisfied with the people in my class, so it shouldn't be too horrendous.

APUSH (Abrams) - I have a feeling this is going to be a good year for me in history. Abrams was completely awesome and I can tell she's going to teach us well. I think the best way to describe her is basically me, with a Katie swirl and Pfaff sprinkles. I think the people in my class are going to make a good group too, so we'll see how that goes.

French (Tangirala) - Mme. Tangirala isn't Thompson. Not Thompson > Thompson. Enough said.

Chem (Armstrong) - He seems like a pretty solid teacher, even though he's a bit dull. In the 37 minutes I was in that class, I found myself trying to focus because he had a tendency to kind of ramble on about irrelevant points. He's kind of nerdy though, and I personally find that appealing in a person, so I think that as long as I don't fall asleep, it'll be fine.

Math (Wardwell) - Probably not going to be my favorite class, just because I literally don't know a single person in it, and the teacher kind of bugs me. She's actually the same sort of mildly infuriating that my mom can be, which is probably why I don't like her. Subconsciously, I think that I'm afraid she's going to tell me to clean my room or empty the dishwasher.

SciFi Lit (Cleney) - I didn't really get to know him because of the assembly, but he seemed alright. But we're not doing The Guide after all, which is a total let down. I think I'll enjoy the class anyway though, just because I'm a such a scifi geek.

Alright, that's all I've got. Peace.

You went to a demolition derby? And you have the nerve to call other people dorks?

Oh, and I never got the chance to tell you that I love your hair.
